It’s a busy December in what’s been a busy year! This morning, old character actress Liz Smith passed away aged 95, which means a welcome three points for predictor Jeremy. Anybody else for 2016?!
I spoke too soon! Just announced that ‘Star Wars’ actress Carrie Fisher has died aged 60, following a mile-high heart attack earlier in the week. And also ‘Watership Down’ author Richard Adams, who left a lot of children traumatized by cartoon rabbits. It’s an end-of-year rush.
In a Clogpoppers first, we’re pleased to announce that predictor Jeannie landed the first-ever Xmas double points when pop maestro George Michael popped his festive clogs on the big day! Aged a mere 53, it seems he passed peacefully in his sleep, although full details have yet to emerge while the great and the good have been lining up on Twitter to praise his musical genius.
Meanwhile, the music world also festively lost Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt at the age of 68. Something about an infection following surgery, although these poppers and rockers live wild lives so it’s surprising nothing got to him sooner.
We thought it would never happen. Even after last rites, amputations and family deaths, much-married actress Zsa Zsa Gabor refused to shuffle off her mortal coil but finally a heart attack did her in at the grand old age of 99. Clogpoppers salutes this game old bird’s longevity and thanks her for the sport! Those three points for Cate were like pulling teeth though…
